readings for kids - VIDEO 4.2 (part 2) - Who was Galileo?

Who Was Galileo? by Patricia Brennan Demuth (2016).

After inventing his telescope, and testing it in Venice, in November 1609 Galileo moved it from the earth towards the skies. He started making a series of incredible discoveries, which would change most of peolple's knoledge about the heavens.

He studied the moon, and saw his mountains and craters. He found the four satellites of Juppiter... and started supporting the heliocentric system, which had enormous consequences in the history of the Western culture. And everything started from an experiment in Venice!
The book explains well also why and how Galileo was accused and trialed by the Catholic Church.

Enjoy your reading of part 2!
